Utilizing computers for children in the classroom.

Children are adapting to the technology age at a younger and younger age. Even children as young as two or three years old can benefit from using computers. It's a fact of life that we live in an electronic age and computers are a bigger part of our lives than ever. It's unlike anything we've seen in the past and kids are learning to use computers at younger ages. It's important that we choose a program appropriate for our child's education and skill level. Even more importantly, it's important that our child is enjoying the computer experience for maximum benefit. With moderation and proper supervision, a computer is an invaluable learning tool for young children. We at SMILETALK make the computer easier for little hands to use. We have a child-size mouse and a keyboard with large letters so that smaller children can recognize the keys easily . There are many programs suitable for children and we evaluate the abilities and interests of our students closely. Some programs teach basic skills such as colors, counting and the alphabet. Others include more advanced skills like reading, math and strategic planning.
